Goliath Online Concludes; PokerPirate1963 Sails Away With Player of the Series

The inaugural Goliath Online Series has concluded and it’s fair to say the inaugural Grosvenor Poker festival was a roaring success. Fifteen evens have now crowned their champions and Grosvenor has paid out more than £500,000, which is nothing short of incredible.

We hope you enjoyed our coverage of the massive Goliath Main Event that saw its £100,000 guarantee obliterated thanks to 2,031 players turning out in force and creating a £231,495 prize pool.

Gerard “WRDortmund7” Barclay triumphed in the Main Event and saw his bankroll swell by a most-impressive £42,248.

Four more Grosvenor Poker players took down events and wrote their names into the Goliath’s history books.

The first was the player known as “AnonymousD” who won the £30 buy-in 6-Max PKO. This victory weighed in at £1,022 plus an additional £923 worth of bounty payments.

“smellitfirst” helped themselves to the second-largest first-place prize of the series courtesy of being the last man standing in the £560 buy-in High Roller. Some 122 players bought in to ensure the £50,000 guarantee was surpassed by £14,660. smellitfirst got their hands on the lion’s share, namely £17,619, leaving “ChefBrad” to bank £11,962 which we have on good authority is his largest haul to date.

The penultimate event was a £5 rebuy and add-on tournament that saw “Shinkansen” come out on top of. They walked away with £689 for their efforts.

Last, but certainly not least, was the £30 Freezeout Finale. This £30 buy-in affair attracted 320 players who were all outlasted by “grannieannie75”. The champion won £1,747 with runner-up “BullyDavis” collecting £1,299.

PokerPirate1963 Crowned Player of the Series

“PokerPirate1963” is the Player of the Series after accumulating 510 leaderboard points. A seventh-place finish in the Goliath Main Event was enough to push them over the starting line in front of “Zebster1994”.

The winner receives a package of tournament tickets worth a cool £1,000. Zebster1994, who won two events and should be commended for doing so, has a free shot at a £560 GUKPT event thanks to their second-place finish.

Congratulations to the other eight players in the top 10 for securing some added value from an already value-packed festival.
